4000 fake degrees claimed to be issued at university of Zululand in Empangeni over the past of 20 years.

Over past 20 years now massive fake degrees have been issued  to not deserving students as many as 4000 .According to Sunday times reporters the university which is approximately 16,000 students proposed an investigation into all postgraduate degrees in law ,business management, public administration and educational at an extraordinary Senate meeting .It seems like these students had people who sold them degrees, the scandal is believed to be happened or taken place on university expanded campuses in Kwa-Dlangwezwa  and Richard bay.

The latest scam involved between 400 and  500 fake degrees for teaching qualifications, sources on the campuses said that as many as 4000 people had bought their academic qualifications since 1985 .this situation was firstly reported but it was not taken seriously and the matter was left hanging because of shortage of evidence 

Two university employees were which is an internal investigation officer and examination officials were suspended at work for allegedly involved in such corruption. The investigation officer said that more than two individuals were being involved. SAA border chairwoman Dudu Myeni was grilled fir claims that she had a BA degree from university. Myeni  later clarified that she was still studying towards degree  ,five stuff members were suspended for allegedly accepting bribes to alters student records. This type of corruption is negatively impact those who did  the scam .It was allegedly that the students bribed university officials to obtain  their entrance exams. Former student told Sunday times he had doctored the results.

Although it’s not illegal to buy or make fake diplomas it’s considered  of fraud if you try to pass them off real .if you submit fake diplomas  to potential employer or to college admissions council you are lying about something that people need to know about. People are not buying fake degrees now more than ever. Fake credentials have become a global problem.

 The national student clearinghouse, NGO offer a degree verification service, reports that satisfied academic. Buying totally a fake academic certificate is only part of problems  .Those who have degrees may falsify their academic transcripts is made easier by availability by of sophisticated  technology Higher education is highly sought after provides a measure of status and improve the education. It is clear that corruption in South Africa is big even in educational they do corruption .Corruption like this may cause a decline in economy activities. This needs to be stopped all of those involved in things like must be arrested before the damage is big.
