Alfa, 38 and Emily 35, who are married and expecting their second child together, met online when Alfa was getting ready to leave Vaal and move back to Free State. However they connected on Hinge. They were in a long distance relationship and there were lot of obstacles they were facing in their relationship.

I think trust and loyalty are honesty some of the biggest challenges when it comes to relationships today because of things like dating on apps while they were away from each other. Alfa and Emily they’ve been dating for years now and have been doing a long distance relationship for about 3 and a half years! They’re only miles away from each other, so time difference isn’t too difficult to deal for with!

Alfa said that lot of people were skeptical  when they decided to not Break after whatever they have been through when he moved back to Free State, However, they didn’t let anyone opinion affect them and they took the plunge to continue with their relationship. Alfa is grateful every single day because even on the hard days lately, he knows that there’s someone out there who loves and cares about him so much and someone who will always be by his side, even when she’s not physically there!

Alfa's best advice for other long distance relationship couples is that couples need to communicate well and understand each other likewise, guilt, blame, shame and ignorance are destructive for any relationship and a long distance relationship is not an exception. Long distance relationship couples must try to communicate as much as possible, he really stresses the importance of this piece of advice. He also advice couples to consider to try find new fun things to do online, or even just over the phone, so you don’t ever feel like you’re getting bored. Alfa and Emily are both super committed to each other and they’ve been working on planning their lives together, which is not always a given in a young relationship.
