Johnny Depp denies using a bottle to sexually abuse his ex-wife Amber Heard.
After her lawyer Elaine Bredehoft claimed in court that he
"penetrated" the "Aquaman" star with the item, Hollywood
actor Johnny Depp has fiercely refuted charges that he sexually attacked his
ex-wife, actor Amber Heard, with a liquor bottle.
Johnny sued Amber for $50 million for defamation after she
published a column for The Washington Post newspaper in which she represented
herself as a victim of domestic abuse, but the 35-year-old actor did not
identify the "Dark Shadows" star, so she countersued for $100 million.
Elaine Bredehoft, Amber's lawyer, claims in court that Johnny
"penetrated" the "Aquaman" actress with "a liquor
bottle" during a three-day "hostage scenario" in Australia in
2015.
"He had her squeezed up against the bar," she told
the jurors. He has thrown a lot of bottles at her. "On the shattered
bottles, he's dragged her across the floor." He is thrown a fist at her. He
has kicked her in the shins. He is threatened to f****** murder her, and her
f****** despises her. He is slamming into her, slamming into her. Then he uses
a wine bottle to pierce her."
"These fake accusations were never stated at the outset
of Amber's allegations in 2016, and only advantageously appeared years later
when she was sued for defamation after stating in her op-ed that she was a
victim of ‘sexual assault,'" a spokesperson for Johnny said in a
statement. In a defamation action, words are crucial, and this charge came
after that. Amber has mastered and utilized to exploit a serious social
movement with her intricate, erroneous assertions, which have continued to grow
and evolve over time for the sake of Hollywood shock value."
Furthermore, Christi Dembrowski, Johnny's sister, has
testified in the libel case.
Amber allegedly insulted Christi's brother "several
times," including calling him "an old fat guy," according to
Christi.
She told the court about another alleged incident:
"Johnny informed Amber that I had just met with Dior and that they were
considering him.
Below is the continuation of the story.
"'Dior, why would Dior want to do business with you?'
she said, disbelieving and disgusted. They are all about class and flair, and you
are lacking in both.' " It was demeaning. Even if that one instant is
removed, the offense remains."
Christi has worked as Johnny's assistant and manager on
occasion, and she said that while he was on the road with Amber, she would
frequently book an additional hotel room since "it wasn't unusual for them
to have a fight."
